Ingredients

(Serves 2–4)

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)


Instructions

1. Melt the chocolate

  • In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the chocolate until smooth.

  • Let it cool slightly (warm, not hot).


2. Whip the cream

  • In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.


3. Fold together

  • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream in batches, being careful not to deflate it.

  • Continue folding until fully combined and smooth.


4. Chill and serve

  • Spoon mousse into serving dishes.

  • Chill for at least 30 minutes for a firmer texture.

  • Optional: garnish with chocolate shavings, whipped cream, or berries.


💡 Tips

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.

  • Make sure chocolate isn’t too hot when folding; otherwise, it can melt the whipped cream.

  • For a richer mousse, use dark chocolate; for a sweeter mousse, use milk chocolate.
