Sure! While most traditional breads need time to rise, here’s a quick 20-minute homemade bread that’s soft, fluffy, and perfect for when you need something fast. This isn’t a yeast-risen loaf, but rather a quick bread — more like a savory scone or biscuit loaf — and still totally satisfying.


🍞 20-Minute Homemade Bread (Quick Bread – No Yeast)

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, but nice)

  • 1 cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)

  • 1/4 cup neutral oil (like vegetable, canola, or melted butter)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    Lightly grease or line a loaf pan or baking dish.

  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  3. Add wet ingredients:
    Pour in milk and oil. Stir just until combined — don’t overmix or it can become dense.

  4. Bake:
    Pour batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top.
    Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is lightly golden.

  5. Cool & serve:
    Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack or towel to cool slightly before slicing.


🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Spread with butter, jam, honey, or cream cheese

  • Serve alongside soups, stews, or chili

  • Make mini sandwiches or toast slices in a skillet


🔄 Variations:

  • Herbed Bread: Add 1 tsp dried rosemary, thyme, or Italian herbs

  • Cheddar & Garlic: Fold in 1/2 cup shredded cheese and 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Sweet Version: Add 2 tbsp sugar and a dash of cinnamon or vanilla
