Here’s a classic and simple recipe for a delicious Glazed Ham — perfect for holidays or any special occasion!

🍖 Glazed Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked ham (about 6–8 pounds), bone-in or boneless

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup

  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard or yellow mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or orange juice

  • 1 tsp ground cloves (optional)

  • Whole cloves for studding (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

  2. Prepare the ham:

    • If your ham has a rind, score it in a diamond pattern (about 1/8 inch deep) to help the glaze penetrate.

    • Optional: Stud the ham with whole cloves at the intersections of the scoring for flavor and decoration.

  3. Make the glaze:

    • In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), mustard, apple cider vinegar (or orange juice), and ground cloves.

    • Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and glaze is smooth. Remove from heat.

  4. Bake the ham:

    • Place ham in a roasting pan, flat side down.

    • Brush a generous amount of glaze all over the ham.

    • Tent loosely with foil.

  5. Roast:

    • Bake for about 1½ to 2 hours (about 15–18 minutes per pound), basting with glaze every 20–30 minutes.

    • Remove foil for the last 15–20 minutes to let the glaze caramelize and get sticky.

  6. Rest & serve:

    • Let the ham rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

    • Serve with any remaining glaze drizzled over.

Tips

  • Use a meat thermometer; ham is ready at 140°F internal temperature.

  • For a citrus twist, add orange zest to the glaze.

  • Leftover ham is great for sandwiches, soups, and casseroles!
