Air Fryer Baked Potato

Posted on December 8, 2025January 6, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and tasty way to make a baked potato in an air fryer:

Ingredients:

  • 1 large russet potato (or as many as will fit in your air fryer in a single layer)

  • 1–2 tsp olive oil

  • Salt (to taste)

  • Optional: pepper, garlic powder, or other seasonings

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer:
Set it to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

  2. Prepare the potato:

    • Wash and scrub the potato thoroughly.

    • Pat it dry with a paper towel.

    • Pierce the potato a few times with a fork (this prevents steam buildup).

    • Rub the potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

  3. Cook in the air fryer:

    • Place the potato in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

    • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 35–45 minutes, depending on the size of the potato.

    • Flip the potato halfway through cooking for even crispiness.

  4. Check doneness:

    • Insert a fork or skewer; it should go in easily.

    • If it’s not soft enough, cook in 5-minute increments until tender.

  5. Serve:

    • Slice open, fluff the insides with a fork, and top with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, or your favorite toppings.

✅ Tips for perfection:

  • For extra crispy skin, rub the potato with a little more oil and salt before cooking.

  • If making multiple potatoes, ensure they’re similar in size for even cooking.

If you want, I can also give you a super-quick 25-minute air fryer version that comes out fluffy inside and crispy outside!

Do you want me to share that version?
