Apple Pie Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

Biscuits:

Apple Filling:

  • 1 tsp sugar + ¼ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples
    • In a small bowl, mix diced apple, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  2. Make the biscuit dough
    • In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Stir in milk until a soft dough forms (don’t overmix).
  3. Shape biscuits
    • Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to about 1-inch thick.
    • Cut into rounds with a biscuit cutter.
  4. Add apple filling
    • Make a small indentation in each biscuit and spoon a little apple mixture in the center.
  5. Bake
    • Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Optional topping
    • Brush warm biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Tips

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp so they don’t get too mushy.
  • These are best eaten warm, fresh from the oven.
