🥓 Bacon-Wrapped Smokies (Brown Sugar Glazed)
Ingredients
-
1 package little smokies (about 14 oz)
-
1 lb bacon, cut into thirds
-
1 cup brown sugar
-
Optional:
-
pinch of cayenne or chili powder for a sweet–spicy version
-
maple syrup drizzle for extra caramelization
-
Instructions
1. Prep
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for easier cleanup.
-
Place a wire rack on top if you want crispier bacon (optional).
2. Wrap the smokies
-
Cut bacon strips into thirds.
-
Wrap each smoky with one piece of bacon.
-
Secure with a toothpick.
3. Coat with brown sugar
-
Place all bacon-wrapped smokies on the baking sheet.
-
Sprinkle brown sugar generously over the tops.
(Some people roll them directly in sugar for a thicker glaze.)
4. Bake
-
Bake 35–45 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sugar has caramelized.
-
For extra crispy edges, broil the last 2–3 minutes (watch closely!).
Serve
Serve warm, straight from the pan or in a slow cooker set to “warm” for parties.
