Here’s a rich, flaky, and incredibly easy recipe for Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits — soft on the inside, golden on the outside, and soaked in melted butter for that “over-the-top” flavor. These biscuits practically melt in your mouth!


🧈💰 Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits

Yields: 8 biscuits
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 20–25 minutes
Total Time: ~35 minutes


🧂 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1½ cups buttermilk (cold)

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)


🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat to 450°F (230°C).

  • Pour the melted butter into a 9-inch round baking dish or an 8×8 square pan.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

3. Add Buttermilk:

  • Pour in cold buttermilk and stir just until combined. The dough will be sticky — that’s okay!

4. Shape Biscuits:

  • Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, drop 8 equal portions of dough directly into the pan on top of the melted butter.

  • The biscuits will touch — that’s what you want.

5. Bake:

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the edges crisp up from the butter.

6. Finish:

  • Brush with extra melted butter (optional) and serve warm.


🔁 Tips & Variations:

  • No buttermilk? Use 1½ cups milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar (let sit 5 min).

  • Add-ins: Mix in shredded cheddar, garlic powder, or herbs for extra flavor.

  • Want crispier edges? Use a metal pan instead of glass or ceramic.
