Here’s a Biscuits and Gravy Casserole recipe — hearty, comforting, and perfect for breakfast or brunch! 🥘


🧾 Ingredients

For the casserole:

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (mild, hot, or sage)

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits (like Pillsbury Grands)

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 6 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the gravy:

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2½ cups whole milk (or 2%)

  • Salt and pepper to taste


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the sausage:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbly.

    • Remove from pan and set aside, leaving some drippings.

  3. Make the gravy:

    • Add the flour to the sausage drippings and whisk for 1–2 minutes.

    • Slowly pour in milk while whisking constantly.

    • Continue whisking until the gravy thickens (about 5 minutes).

    • Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.

  4. Assemble the casserole:

    • Cut biscuits into quarters and spread evenly in the baking dish.

    • Sprinkle cooked sausage on top.

    • Pour the gravy evenly over everything.

    • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over casserole.

    • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

  5. Bake:

    • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until eggs are set and biscuits are golden brown.

    • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.


🌿 Optional Add-Ins

  • Add sautéed onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the sausage.

  • Use pepper jack or a cheddar blend for extra flavor.

  • Top with chopped chives or hot sauce before serving.
