Here’s a simple, budget-friendly, and tasty dish: Sautéed Cabbage with Eggs. It’s quick to make, packed with nutrients, and works as a light main or a flavorful side.


🥬🥚 Cabbage with Eggs (Stir-Fry Style)

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • 1/2 head of green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 4–5 cups)

  • 2–3 large eggs

  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable, olive, or sesame)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional:

    • 1–2 tsp soy sauce (for an umami kick)

    • A pinch of chili flakes or hot sauce (for heat)

    • Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish


🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep ingredients:

  • Thinly slice cabbage and crack eggs into a bowl. Lightly beat the eggs with a pinch of salt.

2. Cook the eggs:

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

  • Pour in eggs and scramble just until cooked.

  • Remove eggs and set aside.

3. Sauté the cabbage:

  • Add another 1 tbsp oil to the same skillet.

  • Add garlic (if using), then cabbage.

  • Stir-fry for about 5–7 minutes, until wilted and tender-crisp.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and optional soy sauce or chili flakes.

4. Combine:

  • Return the cooked eggs to the pan.

  • Stir everything together for 1–2 minutes until eggs are fully incorporated and heated through.

5. Serve:

  • Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

  • Serve hot on its own, or over rice or noodles.


📝 Variations:

  • Add shredded carrots, onions, or bell peppers for color and texture.

  • Use red cabbage for a colorful twist.

  • Add a touch of vinegar or lemon juice for brightness.
