🧀🍗 Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese Sandwich

🧂 Ingredients:

4 slices of hearty bread (sourdough or Italian works best)

1 cooked breaded chicken cutlet or 1 cup shredded cooked chicken (see shortcut tips below)

4 slices mozzarella cheese (or shredded mozzarella)

2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

½ cup marinara or pizza sauce (plus more for dipping)

2 tbsp butter, softened
-
Optional: fresh basil, crushed red pepper, garlic powder
🍳 Instructions:
1. Prep the Bread & Butter:

Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

On the unbuttered side, sprinkle a little garlic powder or Parmesan if you like.
2. Assemble the Sandwiches:

Lay two slices of bread butter-side down.

Add a layer of mozzarella, then chicken (sliced or shredded).

Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken.

Sprinkle with Parmesan, and add a bit of fresh basil if using.

Top with another slice of mozzarella, then the remaining bread slices (butter side up).
3. Grill:

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Cook sandwiches for 3–5 minutes per side, pressing down slightly, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
