Posted on November 5, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a delicious recipe for Cod Fish and Shrimp in a Creamy Sauce 🐟🍤 — rich, savory, and perfect over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread.

🦐 Cod Fish and Shrimp in Creamy Sauce

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20–25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each), skin removed

  • 12–16 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup chicken or fish broth

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Prepare the seafood:

    • Pat cod fillets dry and season both cod and shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  2. Sear the cod:

    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • Sear cod for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook the shrimp:

    • In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil or a bit of butter.

    • Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  4. Make the creamy sauce:

    • Melt butter in the skillet. Add garlic and onion, sauté 2–3 minutes until fragrant and softened.

    • Stir in chicken or fish broth and bring to a simmer.

    • Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.

    • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  5. Combine:

    • Return cod and shrimp to the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and heat through 1–2 minutes.

  6. Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • 🍋 Citrus twist: Add extra lemon zest or a splash of white wine to the sauce for bright flavor.

  • 🥦 Veggie boost: Toss in spinach, peas, or cherry tomatoes for color and nutrition.

  • 🧄 Garlic lovers: Roast the garlic beforehand for a deeper flavor.

  • 🐟 Fish swap: Substitute cod with haddock, tilapia, or halibut if preferred.

If you want, I can also give a one-pot creamy seafood pasta version where the cod, shrimp, and pasta cook together in the sauce — it’s super quick and comforting. Do you want that version?
