Cranberry Bread is a festive, tart-sweet quick bread that’s perfect for fall, winter, or the holidays. Whether you enjoy it for breakfast, as a snack, or wrapped up as a gift, this moist and flavorful loaf never disappoints — especially with a touch of orange zest! 🍞🍊🍒


🍞 Classic Cranberry Bread (with Orange)

📝 Ingredients (Makes 1 loaf)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup orange juice (fresh is best)

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp orange zest

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, halved

  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment.

  2. Mix dry ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Mix wet ingredients:

    • In another bowl, combine orange juice, oil, egg, and orange zest. Whisk until smooth.

  4. Combine:

    • Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined — don’t overmix.

    • Fold in the cranberries and nuts (if using).

  5. Bake:

    • Pour batter into prepared pan.

    • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    • Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.


🍽️ Serving Tips

  • Slice and serve with butter, cream cheese, or a drizzle of honey.

  • Toast leftovers for a cozy breakfast.


🔁 Variations

  • Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm spice note.

  • Use dried cranberries if fresh/frozen aren’t available (reduce to 1 cup and soak in warm water for 10 minutes).

  • Make it festive with a simple orange glaze:
    Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tbsp orange juice, drizzle over cooled loaf.
