Here’s a go-to favorite: Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken 🍯🧄 — golden, crunchy chicken bites tossed in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce. It’s like restaurant-style takeout, but better and made right at home!


🍗 Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

🧂 Ingredients:

For the Crispy Chicken:

  • 1½ lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 cup cornstarch (or ½ cornstarch, ½ flour for a softer crust)

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)


🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

  • Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.

  • Dip each piece in beaten egg, then coat in cornstarch until fully covered.

  • Set aside on a plate.

2. Fry Until Crispy:

  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pan (about 1 inch deep) over medium-high heat.

  • Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per batch.

  • Drain on paper towels.

3. Make the Sauce:

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, and sesame oil.

  • Bring to a simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened (1–2 minutes).

4. Toss and Serve:

  • Toss crispy chicken in the sauce just before serving to keep it crispy.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.


🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve over steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles

  • Add a side of stir-fried veggies or steamed broccoli

  • For spice, toss in some red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha


🔁 Variations:

  • Air fry the chicken for a lighter version (400°F for 12–15 min, flipping halfway)

  • Add grated ginger to the sauce for extra flavor

  • Use tofu or cauliflower for a vegetarian twist
