Here’s a simple, refreshing recipe for cucumber salad — perfect as a side dish for summer meals, grilled meats, or just when you want something light and crisp.

🥒 Classic Cucumber Salad

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 2 large cucumbers (English or regular), thinly sliced

  • 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional, for a bit of bite)

  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1–2 tbsp water (to mellow the vinegar)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Slice cucumbers and onions

    • Thin slices work best. Use a knife or mandoline for uniform pieces.

  2. Mix the dressing

    • In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, sugar, water, salt, and pepper until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Toss everything

    • In a large bowl, combine cucumbers, onion, and dill.

    • Pour the dressing over and toss well.

  4. Chill

    • Let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes — longer is better (even overnight) for deeper flavor.

  5. Serve cold

    • Toss again before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

🥗 Variations:

  • Creamy version: Add 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt to the dressing.

  • Asian twist: Use rice vinegar, a dash of sesame oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  • Add-ins: Cherry tomatoes, feta, or thinly sliced radish.

Want it more tangy, sweet, spicy, or keto-friendly? Just say the word.
