🧺 Ingredients

1 box (2 crusts) refrigerated pie crusts (like Pillsbury)

6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)

¾ cup sugar

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, keeps apples bright)

1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

1 egg (for brushing the crust)

1 tbsp milk or water (for brushing)

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Place one crust in a 9-inch pie plate and press it gently into the bottom. -
Make the filling:

Peel, core, and slice apples thinly.

In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.

Pour apple mixture into the crust.
