Everything bagel bits

Posted on November 2, 2025 by Admin
Yum 😍🥯 — Everything Bagel Bits are the perfect snack: soft, chewy, bite-sized dough balls coated in that savory everything seasoning we all love — garlicky, toasty, and addicting! You can fill them with cream cheese for a warm, gooey center or keep them plain as snackable mini bagels.

Here’s how to make them 👇

🥯 Everything Bagel Bits

(Makes about 20–24 bites)

Ingredients

🧄 For the Dough:

  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

🧈 For the Boil & Topping:

  • 6 cups water

  • 2 tbsp baking soda

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • 3 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning (store-bought or homemade — mix sesame seeds, dried garlic, onion, poppy seeds, and salt)

🧀 Optional Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes, until foamy.

  2. Add flour and salt; mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. Knead for about 5–7 minutes (by hand or mixer) until smooth and elastic.

  4. Cover and let rise for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

2. Shape the bits

  1. Punch down dough and divide into 20–24 small pieces (about 1½ inches each).

  2. Optional filling: Flatten each dough piece slightly, place ½ tsp cream cheese in the center, then pinch and roll into a sealed ball.

  3. If not filling, just roll into smooth balls.

3. Boil

  1. Bring 6 cups of water and baking soda to a gentle boil.

  2. Drop in a few dough balls at a time and boil for 30 seconds per side.

  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4. Top & bake

  1. Brush each ball with egg wash.

  2. Sprinkle generously with Everything Bagel seasoning.

  3. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 14–16 minutes, or until golden brown.

5. Serve warm

  • Perfect plain, with cream cheese dip, honey butter, or even smoked salmon spread.

💡 Tips

  • Don’t skip boiling — it gives that authentic chewy bagel texture!

  • You can also air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes until golden.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat to soften.
