Fish fillet

Posted on October 17, 2025 by Admin
Here’s a simple and delicious crispy pan-fried fish fillet recipe — light, flaky, and golden brown. This works great with white fish like tilapia, cod, haddock, or flounder. You can also bake or grill it for a lighter option!

🐟✨ Crispy Fish Fillet

Serves: 2–4
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 8–10 min
Total Time: ~20 min

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 4 white fish fillets (tilapia, cod, etc.)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • ½ tsp paprika or lemon pepper seasoning (optional)

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (or cornmeal for crunchier coating)

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp milk or water

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers (for extra crunch)

  • 2–3 tbsp oil (vegetable, olive, or butter for frying)

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the Fish:

  • Pat fillets dry with paper towels.

  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika or lemon pepper if using.

2. Set Up Breading Station:

  • Place flour on one plate.

  • Beat egg with milk in a shallow bowl.

  • Put breadcrumbs or crushed crackers on another plate.

3. Bread the Fillets:

  • Dredge each fillet in flour → dip in egg → coat in breadcrumbs.

4. Pan-Fry:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Fry fish 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan — cook in batches if needed.

5. Serve:

  • Drain on paper towels.

  • Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • With coleslaw and fries for a fish & chips style meal

  • Over rice with a squeeze of lemon

  • In a sandwich or fish taco with slaw and sauce

  • With garlic butter vegetables for a healthy option

🔁 Variations:

  • Oven-Baked: Place breaded fish on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes.

  • Grilled: Brush fillets with oil and season. Grill over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side.

  • Herb-crusted: Add dried herbs (parsley, dill, oregano) to breadcrumb mix for extra flavor.
