🧄 Garlic Butter Baked Scallops
⭐ Ingredients:
-
1 lb sea scallops (cleaned, side muscle removed)
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
-
3–4 garlic cloves (minced)
-
1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
-
¼ cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional but recommended)
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried)
-
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
-
Lemon wedges (for serving)
🔪 Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
-
Pat the scallops dry with paper towels — this is key to getting a good texture and preventing excess water.
-
Make the garlic butter:
-
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
-
-
Arrange scallops in the baking dish in a single layer. Pour the garlic butter mixture over them evenly.
-
Top with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using) for a crispy, golden topping.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until scallops are opaque and slightly firm. If you’d like a golden top, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes at the end — watch closely!
-
Garnish and serve with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
🥖 Serving Suggestions:
-
Serve over pasta, risotto, or a bed of sautéed spinach.
-
Pair with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay.
