Oh yes — Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Mashed Potatoes are the ultimate comfort meal! 🥩🧄🧈 Juicy, seared steak cubes coated in garlicky butter, served over creamy, fluffy mashed potatoes — it’s indulgent yet surprisingly easy.

Here’s a detailed recipe:

🥩 Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

(Serves 2–4)

For the steak bites:

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip steak), cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (optional)

For the mashed potatoes:

  • 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed

  • ¼ cup butter

  • ½ cup milk (or cream for extra richness)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: 2–3 cloves roasted garlic for extra flavor

Instructions

1. Prepare the mashed potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes.

  2. Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy.

  3. Season with salt, pepper, and optional roasted garlic. Keep warm.

2. Cook the steak bites

  1. Pat steak cubes dry with paper towels (this ensures a good sear).

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  3. Season steak bites generously with salt and pepper.

  4. Sear steak bites in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.

3. Make garlic butter sauce

  1. Reduce heat to medium.

  2. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet; cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Return steak bites to skillet and toss to coat in garlic butter.

  4. Stir in fresh thyme or parsley if using.

4. Serve

  • Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates.

  • Top with garlic butter steak bites.

  • Drizzle extra garlic butter from the pan over the top.

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, deglaze the skillet with 1–2 tbsp red wine or beef broth before adding the steak back.

  • Let the mashed potatoes rest a few minutes before serving — they’ll be creamier.

  • Optional: sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan over the mashed potatoes for a decadent touch.

I can also give you a one-skillet version where the garlic butter steak bites and mashed potatoes cook together for minimal cleanup — it’s perfect for weeknights. Do you want me to share that version?
