🥔 Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
    (sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip work best)

  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved or quartered

  • 3 tbsp butter, melted

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or use rosemary + thyme)

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional add-ins:

  • ½ small onion, sliced

  • 1 cup mushrooms or bell peppers, sliced


🔥 Instructions

1. Prep the ingredients

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat (400°F / 200°C) or oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • In a large bowl, mix potatoes with 1 tbsp melted butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, and half the garlic.

  • In another bowl, toss steak cubes with remaining butter, garlic, and seasoning.


2. Assemble foil packets

  • Tear 4 large sheets of heavy-duty foil (about 12×16 inches each).

  • Divide potatoes evenly among the foil sheets.

  • Top each with steak pieces.

  • Seal packets tightly, folding edges to keep juices in (but leave a little room for steam).


3. Cook

  • On the grill: Place packets over direct heat for 8–10 minutes per side, until steak is cooked to desired doneness and potatoes are tender.

  • In the oven: Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through if possible.


4. Finish & serve

  • Carefully open packets (watch for steam!).

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and, if you like, drizzle extra melted butter or sprinkle shredded Parmesan on top.
