Here’s a mouthwatering recipe for a Garlic Herb Butter Steak — juicy, seared to perfection, and finished with a rich, flavorful butter that melts right over the top. Simple ingredients, big flavor.

🥩 Garlic Herb Butter Steak

🕒 Prep Time: 10 minutes

🔥 Cook Time: 8–12 minutes

🍽️ Serves: 2

🧾 Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or NY strip steaks (1 to 1½ inches thick)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Garlic Herb Butter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or crushed

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary (or ½ tsp dried)

  • Optional: squeeze of lemon juice for brightness

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Bring steaks to room temperature:

  • Take steaks out of the fridge 20–30 minutes before cooking. Pat dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

2. Make the herb butter:

  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, thyme (or rosemary), and a small pinch of salt. Set aside.

3. Sear the steak:

  • Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron is ideal) over medium-high heat.

  • Add olive oil. Once hot and shimmering, add the steaks.

  • Sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust based on thickness and preference.

Optional: Sear the sides of the steak for 30 seconds if thick-cut.

4. Add the garlic herb butter:

  • In the last minute of cooking, add the garlic herb butter to the pan.

  • Spoon the melted butter over the steaks repeatedly (this is called basting) for extra flavor.

5. Rest the steak:

  • Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest 5–10 minutes before slicing to keep them juicy.

🍽️ Serve With:

  • Roasted potatoes

  • Garlic green beans or asparagus

  • Mashed cauliflower (for a low-carb option)

  • A crusty piece of bread to soak up that butter!

🔥 Optional Add-ons:

  • Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or balsamic to the butter for depth.

  • Mix a little blue cheese or parmesan into the butter for richness.
