🥕 Glazed Carrots

Ingredients

(Serves 4)

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or honey/maple syrup)

  • Salt, to taste

  • Optional: ½ tsp ground cinnamon or fresh thyme for extra flavor


Instructions

1. Cook the carrots

  • Place carrots in a medium saucepan and cover with water.

  • Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.

  • Simmer until tender but not mushy, about 5–7 minutes.

  • Drain and set aside.


2. Make the glaze

  • In the same saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Stir in brown sugar until it forms a smooth syrup.


3. Glaze the carrots

  • Add cooked carrots to the pan.

  • Toss to coat in the glaze and cook 2–3 more minutes until carrots are glossy and well-coated.

  • Season with additional salt or a sprinkle of cinnamon/herbs, if desired.


4. Serve

  • Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm.


💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of orange juice or lemon zest to the glaze.

  • Use baby carrots for a quicker cooking time and uniform glaze.

  • Can be prepared ahead and reheated — just add a little butter to refresh the glaze.
