Posted on December 10, 2025 by Admin
Here’s a classic, easy, and nostalgic recipe for Grandma’s Christmas Candy — sweet, festive, and perfect for holiday gifting or family treats! 🎄🍬

🍬 Grandma’s Christmas Candy

Yields: ~24–30 pieces

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • ½ cup light corn syrup

  • ½ cup water

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp salt

  • Optional: nuts, chocolate drizzle, or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep

  1. Line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. Lightly butter the paper so candy doesn’t stick.

2️⃣ Make the candy base

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine:

    • Sugar

    • Corn syrup

    • Water

    • Sweetened condensed milk

    • Butter

  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.

  3. Attach a candy thermometer; cook without stirring until it reaches 240°F (soft-ball stage).

3️⃣ Flavor and cool

  1. Remove from heat.

  2. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.

  3. Pour mixture into prepared pan.

4️⃣ Add toppings (optional)

  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or festive sprinkles while candy is warm.

  • For a chocolate swirl, melt chocolate and drizzle over the top.

5️⃣ Set and cut

  1. Let candy cool completely (at least 2 hours at room temperature).

  2. Lift out with parchment paper.

  3. Cut into squares or rectangles with a sharp knife.

6️⃣ Store

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

  • Can be wrapped individually for gifting.

🎄 Tips & Variations

  • Peanut Butter Christmas Candy: Stir in ½ cup peanut butter before pouring.

  • Nutty Delight: Add chopped almonds, pecans, or walnuts.

  • Chocolate Lovers: Dip candy squares in melted chocolate after cooling.

  • Holiday Spice: Add ½ tsp cinnamon or a pinch of nutmeg for festive flavor.

If you want, I can also give a no-cook version of Grandma’s Christmas Candy that’s just as festive but takes 10 minutes to make.
