Here’s a no-frills Hamburger Casserole—the kind everyone grew up on.
Hamburger Casserole
Ingredients (4–6 servings)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked egg noodles (or elbow macaroni)
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 can (14.5 oz / 410 g) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- Optional: ½ tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat
Heat oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease a casserole dish. - Brown the beef
Cook ground beef with onion until browned.
Drain excess fat. Add garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. - Mix it up
Stir in soup, milk, and tomatoes.
Fold in cooked noodles. - Assemble
Transfer to casserole dish and sprinkle cheese on top. - Bake
Bake uncovered 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and lightly golden. - Rest & serve
Let sit 5–10 minutes before serving.
