Heaven in a Bowl Recipe

Posted on October 29, 2025 by Admin
Ohhh yes 😍 — Heaven in a Bowl is the perfect name for this dessert! It’s a rich, layered trifle-style treat — think of it as a chocolate lover’s dream made with brownies (or cake), pudding, whipped topping, and candy or toffee bits. It’s creamy, chocolatey, and so easy to make for parties or holidays. 🍫✨

Here’s the classic crowd-pleasing version 👇

🍨 Heaven in a Bowl

Serves: 10–12

Prep Time: 20 min | Chill Time: 1 hour

🥣 Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix, baked and cooled (or use chocolate cake if you prefer)

  • 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 3 cups cold milk

  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

  • 1 cup toffee bits or crushed chocolate bars (Heath, Skor, or Butterfinger work great)

  • Optional: ½ cup mini chocolate chips or shaved chocolate for garnish

🪄 Instructions

  1. Prepare brownies:
Bake the brownie mix according to package instructions. Let cool completely, then cut into small cubes.

  2. Make pudding:
In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk for 2–3 minutes until thickened.

  3. Assemble layers:
In a large trifle dish or glass bowl:

    • Layer half the brownie cubes on the bottom.

    • Spoon half the pudding over them.

    • Add half the whipped topping.

    • Sprinkle half the toffee bits.
      Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.

  4. Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours) before serving. This allows flavors to blend and the texture to set.

  5. Serve:
Top with extra whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, or shaved chocolate for a fancy finish.

💡 Variations

  • Peanut Butter Heaven: Add a layer of peanut butter or use peanut butter cups instead of toffee.

  • Mocha Heaven: Add 1 tsp instant coffee to the pudding for a mocha twist.

  • Salted Caramel Heaven: Drizzle caramel sauce between layers and sprinkle with sea salt.

  • Berry Heaven: Add fresh strawberries or raspberries between layers for a fruity contrast.

Storage:

Keep covered in the fridge for up to 3 days — it actually tastes even better after sitting overnight!
