You can absolutely make homemade condensed milk with just 2 ingredients, and it’s creamy, sweet, and much cheaper than store-bought.


Homemade Condensed Milk (2 Ingredients)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (whole milk works best)
  • ¾ cup sugar (white or light brown)

How to make it

  1. Pour milk and sugar into a saucepan.
  2. Heat on low to medium-low, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Let it gently simmer (do NOT boil hard) for about 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. When it thickens and reduces by about half, remove from heat.
  5. Let cool — it will thicken more as it cools.

  • Coats the back of a spoon
  • Looks pourable but thick
  • Turns slightly creamy in color

Tips for best results

  • Use low heat — rushing it can scorch the milk
  • Stir the bottom occasionally to prevent sticking
