I get why that’s unsettling 😬 — but don’t panic yet. I can help figure it out.
To identify it accurately, I need one of these:
Option 1: Describe it
Tell me:
- Size (tiny like a grain of rice? bigger?)
- Color
- Does it move? crawl, jump, or stay still?
- Hard or soft?
- Any legs, wings, or antennae?
- Flat or round?
Option 2: Upload a photo 📷
A clear picture (even if it’s a little blurry) is the fastest way to identify it.
For now, here are the MOST common things people find on beds
(so you can compare):
- Lint / fabric fuzz → very common, harmless
- Scab or dried skin → often mistaken for bugs
- Carpet beetle larva → tiny, fuzzy, slow-moving
- Bed bug → flat, oval, brown, moves slowly (important to identify)
- Spider or tick → usually accidental visitors
- Seed or food crumb → surprisingly common
Most “mystery bed finds” are NOT bed bugs, even though that’s everyone’s first fear.
👉 Tell me what it looks like or send a photo, and I’ll tell you exactly what it is and whether you need to worry (and what to do next).
