  • 3–4 slices (about 3 oz) liverwurst

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or butter

  • 1 tsp mustard (Dijon or spicy brown work best)

  • 2–3 slices red onion (optional but classic)

  • 1–2 leaves lettuce (romaine or iceberg)

  • Optional: pickle slices or tomato slices


Instructions

  1. Prep the bread:

    • Lightly toast the bread if you like a bit of crunch, or keep it soft and spread with butter or mayo.

  2. Add condiments:

    • Spread mustard on one slice and mayonnaise (or butter) on the other.

  3. Layer it up:

    • Add the liverwurst slices evenly across one piece of bread.
