🍪🥛 Homemade Malted Milk Biscuits

🧂 Ingredients:

1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour

¼ cup (25g) malted milk powder (e.g. Horlicks or Ovaltine)

½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

⅓ cup (65g) granulated sugar

1 tbsp milk
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
Pinch of salt
🍳 Instructions:
1. Cream Butter & Sugar:

In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy.
2. Add Vanilla, Milk & Malt Powder:

Mix in the milk, vanilla, and malted milk powder until smooth.
3. Add Flour & Salt:

Stir in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.

If sticky, chill the dough for 15–20 minutes.
4. Roll & Cut:

Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch (6 mm) thickness.

Cut into rectangles, circles, or use a biscuit stamp for traditional shapes.

Optional: prick with a fork for a classic look.
5. Chill & Bake:

Chill the cut biscuits on a baking sheet for 15–20 minutes (helps keep their shape).

Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
6. Bake:

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.

Cool on a wire rack — they’ll crisp up as they cool.

🔁 Variations:

Chocolate version: Add mini chocolate chips or dip one side in melted chocolate

No malt powder? Sub 1 tbsp powdered milk + 1 tsp brown sugar (flavor won’t be exact, but still good)
