🍪 Maple Cookies

Ingredients (Cookies)

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (pure if possible)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Ingredients (Maple Icing)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1–2 tsp milk (to thin if needed)

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool on a wire rack.

2️⃣ Make the icing

  1. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with maple syrup.
  2. Add milk 1 tsp at a time if it’s too thick, until pourable.
  3. Drizzle or spread icing over cooled cookies.
  4. Let icing set before serving.

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the cookie dough.
  • Use pure maple syrup for a rich, authentic taste.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days.
