🌶️ Meaty Texas Trash Dip

🧂 Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced
-
1 can (15 oz) refried beans

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (10 oz) rotel (diced tomatoes & green chilies), undrained

1 cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot depending on heat preference)

1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade equivalent)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions, sour cream, chopped cilantro, sliced olives
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Cook the beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat.
2. Add seasoning & beans
Stir in taco seasoning, refried beans, black beans, rotel, and salsa. Mix well and simmer for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add cheese
Remove from heat and stir in 1 ½ cups of shredded cheese until melted and combined.
4. Serve
Transfer to a serving bowl or an oven-safe dish if you want to bake it. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
5. Optional baked version
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes until cheese on top is bubbly and golden.
