Nacho tacos

Nacho Tacos? Oh yes — the best of both worlds: all the cheesy, crunchy, spicy goodness of nachos, loaded into a taco shell. Basically, tacos that taste like fully loaded nachos — what’s not to love?

Here’s a fun, customizable recipe for Nacho Tacos:


🌮 Nacho Tacos (Loaded Nacho-Inspired Tacos)

🛒 Ingredients:

For the meat (or beans):

  • 1 lb ground beef, ground turkey, or black beans

  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning (or homemade)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Optional: 1/2 cup salsa or Rotel tomatoes

For assembly:

  • Hard taco shells or small flour tortillas (or use nacho chips as the base for a fun twist!)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce (optional, but amazing)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup guacamole or sliced avocado

  • 1/2 cup salsa or pico de gallo

  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (pickled or fresh)

  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

  • Crushed tortilla chips (for crunch!)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the filling:

    • In a skillet, brown ground beef (or warm beans) over medium heat.

    • Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water.

    • Simmer until thickened. Stir in salsa if using for extra flavor.

  2. Prep the shells:

    • Warm taco shells in the oven (350°F for 5 minutes) or microwave tortillas until soft.

  3. Layer your nacho taco:

    • Spread a little nacho cheese sauce or shredded cheese in the bottom.

    • Add the taco meat/bean mixture.

    • Top with crushed tortilla chips for extra nacho crunch.

    • Add toppings: lettuce, tomato, olives, jalapeños, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa.

    • Sprinkle with more cheese on top (melt under a broiler if you’re feeling extra fancy).


🔄 Variations:

  • Vegetarian: Use spiced black beans or lentils.

  • Buffalo Chicken Nacho Tacos: Shredded buffalo chicken, ranch drizzle, blue cheese crumbles.

  • Walking Tacos Style: Serve over crushed tortilla chips in a small bag instead of a taco shell!
