Here’s a safe, effective, and popular DIY cleaner that really does help lift burnt-on stains from pots, pans, and baking sheets — without heavy scrubbing. It works because of simple chemistry, not magic.

No harsh chemicals, no fumes, and you probably already have everything at home.


✨ DIY Burnt-Stain Remover (Better Than Dish Soap)

You’ll Need

  • Baking soda (the key degreaser + mild abrasive)

  • White vinegar (helps lift carbonized residue)

  • Hot water

  • Optional: dish soap for a finishing wipe

  • Optional: aluminum foil or a scrub-free sponge


🧽 The 3-Step Method

1️⃣ Loosen the Burnt Layer

Fill the burnt pot or pan with:

  • Hot water

  • A generous splash of vinegar

Bring it to a simmer (or pour boiling water into it if it’s not stovetop-safe).
Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
This softens the carbon buildup.


2️⃣ Add Baking Soda

Pour out most of the water but leave the bottom wet.
Sprinkle a thick layer of baking soda directly onto the burnt areas.

It will fizz slightly — that reaction helps lift stuck-on particles.

Let it sit 10–20 minutes.


3️⃣ Wipe Away — No Hard Scrubbing

Use:

  • A sponge

  • Paper towel

  • Or a ball of crumpled aluminum foil (great for stainless steel)

Burnt stains should slide off with gentle pressure.

For stubborn spots, add a little more vinegar on top of the baking soda — the reaction breaks down the residue even more.
