Absolutely! 🍔🍕 Open-Faced Pizza Burgers are a nostalgic, quick, and cheesy meal — kind of like a mashup between a sloppy joe and a personal pizza. They’re perfect for busy weeknights, after-school snacks, or casual party food.


🍕 Open-Faced Pizza Burgers

🍽️ Makes: 6–8 open-faced burgers


🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 6–8 hamburger buns or English muffins, split in half

  • Optional toppings: pepperoni slices, chopped bell peppers, black olives, mushrooms, red pepper flakes


👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Brown the beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is soft.

  • Drain excess grease.

2. Add sauce & seasoning

  • Stir in pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Prep the buns

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Place bun halves (cut side up) on a baking sheet. Toast them for 3–4 minutes if you want a crisper base.

4. Assemble pizza burgers

  • Spoon meat mixture onto each bun half.

  • Top with shredded cheese (mozzarella + cheddar combo is awesome).

  • Add any extra toppings you like.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Potato wedges or fries

  • Side salad

  • Pickles or garlic breadsticks

  • Use Italian sausage instead of ground beef, or a combo of both.

  • For kid-friendly or freezer-friendly versions, use mini slider buns or dinner rolls.
