🍽️ Garlic Mushrooms (Buttery & Savory)
Ingredients:
-
1 lb (450 g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and halved or left whole if small
-
3–4 cloves garlic, minced
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
-
1–2 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
-
Optional: a pinch of chili flakes or a splash of white wine
Instructions:
-
Prep the mushrooms:
-
Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel (avoid soaking in water).
-
Cut larger ones in half for even cooking.
-
-
Sauté:
-
Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add mushrooms in a single layer. Let them sit for 2–3 minutes without stirring to get some golden color.
-
Stir and cook for another 5–7 minutes, until browned and tender.
-
-
Add garlic:
-
Lower heat to medium. Add minced garlic and stir constantly for 1–2 minutes — don’t let it burn.
-
-
Season:
-
Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice (if using).
-
Stir in fresh parsley and a pinch of chili flakes if you want a bit of heat.
-
-
Serve hot:
-
Transfer to a plate and serve immediately — excellent as a side for steak, chicken, pasta, or crusty bread.
-
🧄 Variations:
-
Add a splash of cream or a dollop of sour cream at the end for a creamy version.
-
Stir in a bit of grated Parmesan for a cheesy kick.
-
Deglaze the pan with white wine after sautéing for a richer flavor.
