Here’s how to make a delicious plate of garlic mushrooms — buttery, garlicky, and perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or even on toast.


🍽️ Garlic Mushrooms (Buttery & Savory)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and halved or left whole if small

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

  • 1–2 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

  • Optional: a pinch of chili flakes or a splash of white wine


Instructions:

  1. Prep the mushrooms:

    • Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel (avoid soaking in water).

    • Cut larger ones in half for even cooking.

  2. Sauté:

    • Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add mushrooms in a single layer. Let them sit for 2–3 minutes without stirring to get some golden color.

    • Stir and cook for another 5–7 minutes, until browned and tender.

  3. Add garlic:

    • Lower heat to medium. Add minced garlic and stir constantly for 1–2 minutes — don’t let it burn.

  4. Season:

    • Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice (if using).

    • Stir in fresh parsley and a pinch of chili flakes if you want a bit of heat.

  5. Serve hot:

    • Transfer to a plate and serve immediately — excellent as a side for steak, chicken, pasta, or crusty bread.


🧄 Variations:

  • Add a splash of cream or a dollop of sour cream at the end for a creamy version.

  • Stir in a bit of grated Parmesan for a cheesy kick.

  • Deglaze the pan with white wine after sautéing for a richer flavor.
