🍽️ Pork Chop Supreme
📋 Ingredients (Serves 4):
-
4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
-
8 oz mushrooms, sliced (white or cremini)
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup sour cream (or heavy cream for a lighter sauce)
-
1/2 cup chicken broth
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
-
1 tsp dried thyme or fresh thyme sprigs
-
1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella (optional, for topping)
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare pork chops
-
Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
-
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Sear pork chops 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. Make mushroom sauce
-
In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms. Sauté until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
-
Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
-
Stir in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
-
Mix in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and thyme. Stir until sauce is smooth and heated through. Adjust seasoning.
3. Combine and bake
-
Place pork chops in a baking dish. Spoon mushroom sauce over each chop.
-
Optional: sprinkle cheese on top.
-
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until pork is cooked through (internal temp 145°F) and sauce is bubbly.
4. Serve
-
Garnish with chopped parsley.
-
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies.
