🍽️ Pork Chop Supreme

📋 Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (white or cremini)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup sour cream (or heavy cream for a lighter sauce)

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1 tsp dried thyme or fresh thyme sprigs

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella (optional, for topping)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prepare pork chops

  • Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper.

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear pork chops 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

2. Make mushroom sauce

  • In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms. Sauté until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  • Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.

  • Stir in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan.

  • Mix in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and thyme. Stir until sauce is smooth and heated through. Adjust seasoning.

3. Combine and bake

  • Place pork chops in a baking dish. Spoon mushroom sauce over each chop.

  • Optional: sprinkle cheese on top.

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until pork is cooked through (internal temp 145°F) and sauce is bubbly.

4. Serve

  • Garnish with chopped parsley.

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies.
