🥔 Potato Cutlets
Makes: ~12 cutlets | Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins
🛒 Ingredients:

4 medium potatoes (about 2 cups mashed)

1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
-
2 tbsp fresh coriander (cilantro), chopped
-
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste (or minced ginger and garlic)
-
½ tsp turmeric powder
-
1 tsp garam masala or chaat masala
-
½ tsp red chili powder (optional)
-
Salt to taste

2–3 tbsp all-purpose flour or breadcrumbs (for binding)

½ cup breadcrumbs (for coating)

Oil for frying
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare Potatoes

Boil potatoes until tender. Peel and mash smoothly.

Let cool slightly.
2. Make the Mixture

In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, onion, green chilies, coriander, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, garam masala, chili powder, and salt.

Add flour or some breadcrumbs to bind the mixture so it holds together.
3. Shape Cutlets

Divide the mixture into equal portions.

Shape each portion into a flat, round or oval patty about ½ inch thick.
4. Coat the Cutlets

Roll each cutlet in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
5. Fry

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Fry cutlets in batches until golden brown and crisp on both sides (about 3–4 minutes per side).

Drain on paper towels.

Serve hot with green chutney, ketchup, or tamarind chutney.

Great as a snack with tea or as a side with rice and curry.

You can also bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes for a healthier option.
