Ooooh, rich and beautiful! ❤️✨ Red Velvet Pound Cake is a luscious twist on classic pound cake with that signature velvety texture and subtle cocoa flavor, plus the gorgeous red color. Perfect for celebrations or an indulgent treat!


🎂❤️ Red Velvet Pound Cake


Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temp

  • 2 tbsp red food coloring

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp white vinegar


Instructions:

1. Prep Oven & Pan:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

  • Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.

3. Cream Butter & Sugar:

  • In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).

4. Add Eggs:

  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

5. Add Wet Ingredients:

  • Mix in vanilla, vinegar, and red food coloring.

6. Combine Batter:

  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix gently until combined but don’t overmix.

7. Bake:

  • Pour batter into prepared pan.

  • Bake 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

8. Cool & Serve:

  • Let cool in pan 15 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.


Optional:

  • Top with cream cheese frosting for that classic red velvet finish!

  • Sprinkle powdered sugar or drizzle white chocolate.
