Ingredients:

1½ cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

2½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup buttermilk, room temp

2 tbsp red food coloring

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp white vinegar
Instructions:
1. Prep Oven & Pan:

Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
3. Cream Butter & Sugar:

In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
4. Add Eggs:

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
5. Add Wet Ingredients:

Mix in vanilla, vinegar, and red food coloring.
6. Combine Batter:

Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix gently until combined but don’t overmix.
7. Bake:

Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
8. Cool & Serve:
