Ribeye steak

Ah, a classic! 🥩 Ribeye steak is beloved for its rich marbling and incredible flavor—perfectly juicy and tender when cooked right. Want a simple, foolproof way to cook it, or maybe a fancy marinade or seasoning recipe?


🍽️ Perfect Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak


Ingredients:

  • 1 ribeye steak (about 1–1.5 inches thick)

  • Salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)

  • Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Prep the Steak:

    • Take the steak out of the fridge 30–60 minutes before cooking to come to room temperature.

    • Pat dry with paper towels.

    • Generously season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat the Pan:

    • Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over high heat until very hot.

    • Add oil or butter.

  3. Cook the Steak:

    • Place the steak in the pan, don’t move it for about 3–4 minutes.

    • Flip and cook another 3–4 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time for thickness and doneness preference).

    • Add garlic and herbs to the pan during the last minute; baste steak with melted butter for extra flavor.

  4. Rest:

    • Remove steak and let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.


Tips:

  • Use a meat thermometer to nail doneness: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  • For extra crust, sprinkle a little baking soda on the steak before cooking (pat off excess).

  • Letting the steak rest is key to juicy results.
