Ah, a slice of quiche — perfect anytime comfort food! Here’s a classic, versatile recipe for a delicious quiche with a flaky crust and creamy custard filling that you can customize with your favorite add-ins.


🥧 Classic Quiche (Slice-worthy!)

🕒 Prep: 15 min | Bake: 35–40 min

🍽️ Makes: 6–8 slices


Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

For the filling:

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 ½ cups half-and-half or heavy cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss, cheddar, gruyère, or a mix)

  • 1 cup add-ins (choose any combo: cooked bacon, ham, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork.

2. Blind bake crust (optional but helps keep it crisp)

Line crust with parchment paper, fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake 10 minutes, remove weights and paper, bake 5 more minutes until lightly golden.

3. Prepare filling

In a bowl, whisk eggs, half-and-half (or cream), salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
Add shredded cheese and your choice of cooked add-ins.

4. Assemble

Pour filling into crust.

5. Bake

Bake for 35-40 minutes until the filling is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.

6. Cool & slice

Let quiche cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing for best results.


Tips

  • Quiche is great warm or at room temp — perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

  • Make ahead and reheat gently in the oven or microwave.

  • Use pre-cooked add-ins (meats, sautéed veggies) so filling cooks evenly.
