🍰 Tiramisu (Single Slice/Serving)
Ingredients
(Makes ~6–8 servings; adjust for a single slice by dividing accordingly)
-
6 large egg yolks
-
¾ cup granulated sugar
-
1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
-
1 ¼ cups heavy cream
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 ½ cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
-
2–3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional, e.g., Kahlúa)
-
24 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
-
Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
1. Prepare the cream
-
In a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
-
Fold in mascarpone until smooth.
-
In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream and vanilla to stiff peaks.
-
Gently fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture to create a light, airy filling.
2. Prepare the coffee
-
Mix cooled coffee with coffee liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish.
3. Assemble
-
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (don’t soak too long or they’ll get soggy).
-
Layer dipped ladyfingers in your dish or serving glass.
-
Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
-
Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and remaining cream.
4. Chill
-
Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
5. Serve
-
Just before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder.
-
Slice carefully and enjoy!
💡 Tips
-
For extra flavor, sprinkle a little dark chocolate shavings on top.
-
Use espresso for a stronger coffee kick.
-
Individual servings in cups or glasses make elegant presentation.
