Slow Cooker Beef Patties & Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 1½ lb ground beef (80/20 works best)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the gravy
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 small onion, sliced (optional)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix or
- 1 tsp Worcestershire
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp thyme
- 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Instructions
- Make the patties
- In a bowl, mix beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire.
- Form into oval or round patties (not too thick).
- Optional but recommended: brown the patties
- Quickly sear patties in a hot skillet, 1–2 minutes per side.
- Adds flavor and helps them hold together.
- Layer the slow cooker
- Add mushrooms and onions to the bottom.
- Place patties on top.
- Add liquid
- Pour in beef broth and soup mix (or seasoning combo).
- Cook
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Thicken the gravy
- Stir in cornstarch slurry.
- Cover and cook another 20–30 minutes until thickened.
Serve with
- Mashed potatoes 🥔
- Rice or egg noodles
- Buttered green beans or peas
