🍞 Smucker’s Caramel Cream Cheese Bread
Ingredients
(Makes 1 large loaf or 2 smaller loaves)
For the Bread:
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1½ tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
-
¾ cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
¾ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
-
¼ cup milk
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened
-
¼ cup granulated sugar
-
1 egg
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
For the Caramel Swirl:
-
½ cup Smucker’s Caramel Topping (or your favorite thick caramel sauce)
-
Pinch of salt (optional — enhances flavor)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven
-
Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
-
Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan (or line with parchment paper).
2. Make the cream cheese filling
-
Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
3. Make the bread batter
-
In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until fluffy (2–3 minutes).
-
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
-
Mix in sour cream and milk until smooth.
-
Add dry ingredients and stir until just combined — don’t overmix!
4. Layer the loaf
-
Spoon half the batter into the loaf pan.
-
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top.
-
Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer.
-
Add remaining batter and swirl lightly with a knife.
-
Top with the rest of the caramel, swirling again for a marbled look.
5. Bake
-
Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).
-
Cool in pan 10–15 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a rack.
6. Optional Glaze (for extra caramel bliss)
Drizzle more warm Smucker’s Caramel Topping over the cooled loaf before slicing.
💡 Tips
-
For a nutty twist, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the caramel layer before baking.
-
Store in the fridge (because of the cream cheese) for up to 5 days — it tastes even better the next day!
-
Serve slightly warmed with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
