I can help, but I need one key thing first 👀
👉 Can you upload a photo of it?
A lot of very different things can stick out of a ceiling, and without seeing it I’d just be guessing. Common possibilities include:
- A nail or screw from roofing or a joist
- A drywall anchor
- Part of a smoke detector mount
- An old hook (for plants, lights, or decor)
- Electrical wire or cable (important to identify quickly)
- A roofing nail pop (very common in older homes)
- HVAC, insulation, or attic-related material
Some of these are harmless, some need attention, and a few can be safety issues — especially if it’s metal, sharp, or looks like wire.
📸 Post a clear photo (and tell me if it’s metal, plastic, sharp, or flexible), and I’ll tell you exactly what it is and what to do next.
