Ingredients

  2. Sugar – 2/3 cup (adjust slightly to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients
    In a medium saucepan, mix the milk and sugar together.
  2. Heat gently
    Place over low to medium-low heat. Stir constantly to prevent the milk from sticking or burning.
  3. Simmer and reduce
    Let it simmer slowly for 30–40 minutes. Stir occasionally. You’ll notice the milk thickening and turning slightly creamy.
  4. Check consistency
    Once the milk has reduced by about half and is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, remove from heat.
  5. Cool and store
    Let it cool completely. Pour into a clean jar or container. It will thicken slightly more as it cools. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

  • Stirring constantly is key to avoid burning or curdling.
