🌯 Ground Beef Tortilla Wraps

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Total Time: ~25 min

🧂 Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning (or chili powder + cumin + paprika + salt)

  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

For the Wraps:

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas (8–10 inch)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your fave)

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1 tomato, diced

  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

  • ½ avocado or guacamole (optional)

  • Salsa or hot sauce (optional)

🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Beef:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add a little oil (if needed), then sauté onion for 2–3 minutes until soft.

  • Add ground beef and break it up with a spatula.

  • Cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.

2. Season It:

  • Add minced garlic, taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and water.

  • Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened and flavorful.

3. Warm the Tortillas:

  • Warm tortillas in a dry skillet, microwave, or oven until soft and flexible.

4. Assemble the Wraps:

  • Spoon some beef into the center of each tortilla.

  • Top with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and any extras you like.

  • Fold the sides in and roll it up like a burrito or keep it open-style like a taco.

5. Optional: Toast Them!

  • For extra crunch, grill the wraps seam-side down in a skillet for 1–2 minutes per side until golden.

🔁 Variations:

  • Add black beans, corn, or rice to the filling.

  • Use spicy ground sausage or chicken instead of beef.

  • Try a ranch, chipotle mayo, or yogurt-lime sauce drizzle.

🧊 Meal Prep Tip:

  • Make the beef in advance and store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Assemble wraps fresh when ready to eat.
