Turkey meatballs

Posted on October 19, 2025 by Admin
You got it — Turkey Meatballs are a lighter twist on the classic, but still juicy, flavorful, and versatile. Bake them, pan-fry them, simmer in sauce — they work for pasta, subs, meal prep, or snacks.

🦃 Juicy Turkey Meatballs

Serves: 4–6 | Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 20 mins

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean is ideal)

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (or 1 tsp dried)

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp milk for extra moisture

  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes or Italian seasoning

🔥 Baking Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Mix Meatball Mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.

  • Mix gently with hands or a fork — don’t overmix or they’ll get tough.

3. Form Meatballs

  • Roll into 1½-inch balls (about golf ball size). You should get ~18–20 meatballs.

4. Bake

  • Place on prepared sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).

  • Broil the last 1–2 minutes for extra browning if desired.

🍳 Other Cooking Options:

Pan-fry:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Brown meatballs on all sides (about 6–8 minutes total), then cover and cook for another 5 minutes until done.

Simmer in Sauce:

  • Brown meatballs first, then simmer in marinara sauce on low for 15–20 minutes for ultra-flavorful, tender meatballs.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Over spaghetti or zucchini noodles

  • In a sub sandwich with marinara and melted mozzarella

  • With mashed potatoes or rice

  • Meal prep with roasted veggies
