Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler

Posted on November 2, 2025 by Admin
Oh yes! 🍇✨ Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler is a classic, comforting dessert — juicy blackberries topped with a soft, golden biscuit-like crust. Perfect served warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Here’s a simple recipe:

🍇 Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler

(Serves 6–8)

Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste if berries are tart)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker filling)

For the topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

  • ⅓ cup milk (or as needed for dough)

  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the filling

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a medium bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch (if using). Toss gently and pour into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.

2. Make the topping

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Stir in milk (and vanilla, if using) until a soft, sticky dough forms.

3. Assemble the cobbler

  • Drop spoonfuls of the topping over the blackberry filling. You can leave gaps so some berries peek through — it creates a rustic look.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

5. Serve

  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the topping.

  • Frozen blackberries work perfectly; just thaw and drain slightly before using.

  • If you like a crispier topping, sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking.

This cobbler is sweet, juicy, and comforting — the perfect dessert for any season.

If you want, I can also give you a quick 5-ingredient skillet version that cooks in under 30 minutes! Do you want me to do that?
