Here’s a classic, rich, and creamy butter fudge recipe—perfect for a sweet treat 🍬🧈

🍫 Butter Fudge

Soft, melt-in-your-mouth fudge made with simple ingredients.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole milk preferred)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

🔥 Instructions

1. Prepare Pan

  • Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Cook the Sugar Mixture

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Continue boiling for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened (soft-ball stage if using a candy thermometer: 234–240°F / 112–115°C).

3. Cool Slightly

  • Remove from heat and let cool 2–3 minutes.

4. Add Flavor

  • Stir in vanilla extract and nuts (if using).
  • Beat the mixture with a wooden spoon until it thickens and loses gloss (~5 minutes).

5. Set the Fudge

  • Pour into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Let cool at room temperature for 2–3 hours or until firm.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy!

😋 Tips for Perfect Fudge

  • Use a heavy-bottomed pan to prevent burning.
  • Don’t over-stir while boiling—stir gently until slightly thickened.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
