Posted on February 1, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes — Fried Bologna Sandwich 🥪🔥
Pure old-school comfort food. Crispy edges, soft middle, and that nostalgic smell when it hits the pan.

Here’s the classic diner / Southern version, plus a couple of upgrades if you’re feeling fancy.

Classic Fried Bologna Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick-cut bologna
  • 2 slices white bread (or sandwich bread of choice)
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • Optional: American cheese, mustard, mayo

Instructions

  1. Score the bologna
Make 3–4 small cuts around the edges so it doesn’t curl.
  2. Fry
Heat a skillet over medium heat with butter or oil.
Fry bologna 1–2 minutes per side until browned and crispy.
  3. Toast bread (optional but recommended)
Toast bread lightly in the same pan or toaster.
  4. Assemble
Bologna on bread, add cheese if using, spread mustard or mayo, top with second slice.
  5. Serve hot
    Best eaten immediately.

The “Southern Upgrade” 🌟

  • Thick bologna
  • Melted American cheese
  • Yellow mustard
  • Lightly toasted white bread

Simple. Perfect.

Extra tasty variations
